Press Release

Santa Cruz Launches the Heckler SL

The lightweight eMTB features Fazua's Ride 60 motor with a 430Wh battery and, on average, weighs 41 lbs (18.5 kgs).

Santa Cruz has finally entered the lightweight e-bike category with the all-new Heckler SL. As the name suggests, the new model is a slimmed-down iteration of their full-power Heckler model, featuring 150mm of rear wheel travel paired with a 160mm fork. However, it ditches the Shimano EP8 motor and e-system for Fazua's sleek Ride 60 platform. Certainly not the first (and definitely not the last) to develop an eMTB with less power, weight, and range in exchange for better handling and maneuverability familiar to our beloved mountain bikes, the Heckler SL does offer a tad more power than most SL bikes. And it looks like a hoot to ride, especially if you are already a fan of Santa Cruz bikes. Of course, that is if you can summon the funds to buy one. We have plans to hop on the Heckler SL before the year ends for some first-hand impressions and opinions, but for now, have a scroll below for all the press release details.

Faster, Lighter, More Power. Choose All Three.

All the on-trail traits of a Santa Cruz combined with the Fazua mid-power compact drive unit. 150mm of legendary VPPTM suspension, mixed wheels, and progressive geometry makes the Heckler SL a natural handling trail bike. Just with the added power of an e-bike. Great for quick escapes, squeezing the most out of a ride.
