Wolf Tooth Releases New Color of ReMote and ReMote Light Action 2

Limited Edition Olive is the first time this anodized color has been used by Wolf Tooth.

Minneapolis, Minn. (June 28, 2022) — The Wolf Tooth ReMote and ReMote Light Action are now available in a new limited color. This is the first time that Wolf Tooth has used olive as an anodized color option. Wolf Tooth has been rolling out a series of limited colors for ReMote and ReMote Light Action. Olive follows teal, pink, purple, gold, green, and a couple others. The ReMote and ReMote Light Action in Limited Olive are machined at Wolf Tooth in Minnesota and are compatible with all cable-actuated dropper posts.

The ReMote from Wolf Tooth was first released in late 2016. It was the first dropper lever to use a large sealed cartridge bearing in its design. At the time, all dropper levers were using bushings at their pivot point. The advantages of using a large bearing instead of a bushing are smooth operation and unparalleled modulation. Many other dropper levers have moved from bushings to larger bearings since the ReMote was first released.

The ReMote Light Action was released in early 2017, just a few months after the ReMote. The ReMote Light action has a longer lever. The lever length of the ReMote is 46.3mm while the ReMote Light Action is 57.1mm. This additional 10.8mm doesn’t seem like much, but it makes for a 25% reduction in push force required to actuate a dropper post. Both lengths have their advantages, of course. The shorter lever of the ReMote makes for a shorter throw and faster actuation. The longer lever of the ReMote Light Action requires less push force, but has the same precision as the ReMote.

Beyond lever length, the ReMote and ReMote Light Action feature the same design. Both have a machined thumb pad for grip with or without gloves, accessible cable fixing for quick setup and adjustment, a machined cable path with a custom clamping screw that won’t damage cables, and integrated cable adjustment with a strong barrel adjuster for on-the-fly changes that eliminates cable rattling. The ReMote and ReMote Light Action are also designed around a breakaway axle pivot that sits at the center of the bearing. This serves as a breaking point for crashes–it’s a small plastic piece that will absorb the blow of a crash so only this one part would need to be replaced instead of the entire dropper lever and clamp.

Wolf Tooth believes in the Right To Repair. Like most components, accessories, and tools from Wolf Tooth, all the individual parts that make up the ReMote and ReMote Light Action are available as replacement parts. This includes everything from fixing bolts, to washers, to bearings, to the levers themselves. Replacing the breakaway axle pivot, for example, would require $4.95 instead of replacing the entire $69.95 dropper lever. Installation and repair guides with videos, diagrams, and instructions are also available on ReMote and ReMote Light Action web pages.

Integration with brake clamps is also an option with the ReMote and ReMote Light Action. Instead of the ReMote and left brakes using two separate clamps, brake integration allows those two clamps to essentially merge. This means a tidy cockpit with fewer parts. While the ReMotes in this new color include a 22.2mm clamp that is compatible with standard mountain bike handlebars, additional brake clamps are available as replacement parts. The ReMote and ReMote Light Action will integrate with Shimano brakes that use I-Spec A, I-Spec B, I-Spec II, and I-Spec EV; SRAM MatchMaker and MatchMaker X; Magura; and Hope Tech 3 brakes. There is also a 31.8mm clamp available for attaching a ReMote or ReMote Light Action to drop bars at the thick part of the handlebar near the stem.

The new ReMote and ReMote Light Action in Limited Olive are available now on WolfToothComponents.com alongside standard black and a selection of other anodized color options.
