Machecoul, 16th of February 2015 - Sunn, mountainbike world icon, introduces its new enduro team that will race all the EWS this season. The two team’s riders, Killian Bron and Thomas Lapeyrie, signed for the next 3 years.

After announcing its come back during Roc D’Azur last year, the legendary brand SUNN bought by « La Manufacture Française du Cycle » in septembre 2013 has now its own professional team. The team, managed by Bruno Delabre, will take part of the 2015 range development, range that will come out in a few months.

« Starting a professional racing team with SUNN was for us something obvious, obvious because of the brand history and the vision we have of it. To see a SUNN rider back on the podium would be something amazing that we would be really proud of. We are sure that Kilian and Thomas will allow us the show SUNN’s know-how in terms of quality and performance. », Yves Salaun, SUNN’s CEO.

Kilian Bron / Rider aventure
My name is Kilian Bron, I’m 23 years old and I live in Annecy (France). Downhill and 4X rider when I started, I turned to Enduro 3 years ago. I’m now part of the Sunn team for 2015, my season will be split in two : On one side I’ll be racing the EWS and a few french events and on the other side I’ll be doing lots of video and photo trips. I really got into organizing trips and video projects this past few years and I’m really motivated to keep doing that with the support of Sunn. Concepts and ideas are rushing and can guarantee that the footage will be awesome!

What does Sunn represent for you?
We all remember Sunn when MTB started, it was a big brand with big names. I feel really honored to be a part of it. It’s an iconic and french, it’s making me really motivated.

How do you like the team roster?
There is two riders for 2015. Thomas is a really good friend, I ride with him for a few years now so the cohesion is great. We now live in the same city, Annecy. It’s a real bonus because we can ride together everyday. The season is just around the corner and everything is coming together, i feel confident, staff is motivated, I can’t wait to start! We will be supported by Bruno Delabre, our manager, who shares the same motivation and passion for MTB.

Thomas Lapeyrie / Racer :
I’m Thomas, 24 years old, Enduro rider for 2 years now. I started Enduro after 8 years of BMX racing, a few years of 4X and XC with the french team. I’ve always wanted to race DH so Enduro is the perfect compromise. I’m aware that I’m still pretty with the whole Enduro game but I feel confident.

What does Sunn represent for you?
I started riding with a Sunn BMX, I had 3 or 4 after that and I was a huge fan of Nicolas Vouilloz who was riding for Sunn. It was the biggest brand at the time. I had two Sunn hardtails when I started MTBing and my first Roc D’Azur was on a Sunn as well. Being a part of their team is a kid’s dream and I can’t wait to start riding the new bikes and test them.

How do you like the team roster ?
Killian Bron is a good friend, the fact the he is part of the team helped me a lot in my decision for 2015 season. Sunn is also a really serious and competitive brand, it’s really important for me. Bruno, our team manager, knows what he’s doing, I feel really confident.
Bruno Delabre / Team manager :
I’ve always been passionate about two wheels. I’ve been a mechanic for the best riders at the biggest races, part of the french team staff and after a quick try in motocross I’m back to my first love, MTB.

What are the team’s goals ?
For our first season we have two riders with two slightly different goals, one will focus ont eh EWS, hoping to tickle the bests and one is going to focus only on the european rounds of the EWS and some french races and then will be doing videos and trips.
Even after all those years, all those racing seasons, my motivation is intact and to see young riders going head first into this project is awesome! We don’t want to go too fast, we want to build something strong, that’s why we start with two riders to evolve in 2016.
