Press Release

SCOTT Sports Continues its Partnership with the SCOTT DH Factory Team 1

After two years of immediate success, SCOTT re-signs with SCOTT DH Factory for the foreseeable future.

Givisiez, Switzerland - After two successful years on the World Cup circuit featuring no less than 5 World Cup victories and an Overall World Cup Title for Marine Cabirou, we are thrilled to announce that we have re-signed with the SCOTT DH Factory for the foreseeable future. Marine Cabirou, Dean Lucas, and Flo Payet will continue to ride SCOTT Bikes, eyewear, protection and clothing in 2021 and beyond! Brendan Fairclough also continues with the SCOTT DH FACTORY with a slightly modified sponsor program. Stay tuned for more news around Brendan!

Starting in 2019, the team hit success right out of the gates. With Marine landing the first podium of the year in Maribor, the team would soon follow that up with two fastest team honors, top tens for all athletes including three wins in her first year on the Gambler for Marine. Dean Lucas would finish his first season on SCOTT in 10th overall before sitting out last season dues to COVID-19 and international travel complications.

The SCOTT DH Factory is supported by SCOTT, FOX, MAXXIS and SYNCROS Bike Components. New for 2021 is the addition of SHIMANO as an official sponsor and partner for brakes and drivetrains, and RACE FACE covering the wheel department completing the setup for the approaching DH Racing season.

The SCOTT DH Factory Partners with Shimano

Starting in 2021, the SCOTT DH Factory will be riding Shimano Brakes and Drivetrains. As a long time brand partner with SCOTT, partnering with Shimano displayed a great opportunity. "Over the past few years, we've been building up a program along with our team partners that we couldn't be more proud of. The results have shown that this team has what it takes to compete day-in, day-out at the highest level. We have the opportunity to mix world-class athletes with world class partners, and we're looking forward to seeing the result," says Julian Wagner, MTB Marketing Manager at SCOTT Sports.

Myron Walraven, Shimano Sports Marketing Lead, had this to say about the partnership, "We are incredibly pleased to support the SCOTT DH FACTORY with SAINT drivetrains and brakes. This is a great opportunity to validate and further refine our products for downhill riders. Were very excited to be working with the World Class talents on the team who are set to be the future of Downhill Racing!"

All Athletes Continue with the SCOTT DH FACTORY

Marine Cabirou, Dean Lucas, Florent Payet and Brendan Fairclough will continue with the program for the years to come. With a World Cup Overall Champion, an up and coming top-ten Elite Men's racer, a former World Championship Podium Star, and arguably one of the most popular riders in mountain biking, the SCOTT DH Factory's roster is one to envy.

"I'm really proud and happy to continue with SCOTT as it is a huge opportunity for me! SCOTT gives me the best support and everything I need to perform. It's so cool to work with people who are passionate and motivated to help me win! I'm sure that we will continue to do great things together." - Marine Cabirou, 2020 Women's Overall UCI World Cup Champion

Behind the SCOTT DH FACTORY is Team Manager, Patrice Afflatet. "2020 was a very special year. That being said, the team chose to never give up and was able to realize some great achievements! I'm delighted to be able to pursue this project with all of our fellow partners, SCOTT, FOX, MAXXIS, SYNCROS and now SHIMANO! The team is already working hard to perform at an even higher level in 2021 and beyond!"

"Couldn’t be happier about re-signing with SCOTT for the coming years- super grateful to have this kind of support even as the world goes through such strange and trying times. Excited to get back to Europe and be in the race environment again with the whole team, that’s going to be a massive win in itself. It’ll also be interesting to see what this new found momentum that’s been pushing me along for the last year can do." - Dean Lucas

"I'm thrilled to continue with SCOTT for 2021. After a frustrating season, I'm as motivated as ever to ride at my best!" - Flo Payet

Team Bikes

The SCOTT Gambler is the bike of choice for the SCOTT DH Factory team. One of the lightest bikes on the on the WC circuit and with several World Cup wins to it's name, the Gambler was designed for one thing and one thing only, pure, unadulterated speed.  Fox Suspension, Shimano brakes and drivetrains, Syncros components, Race Face wheels and MAXXIS rubber - what a dream setup for the SCOTT DH Factory.
