Keep your eyes on the young Raphaela Richter, only 17 years old and put the hurt on the U21 class in Tweedlove last weekend. - Fred

Our own Radon Factory Enduro Benjamin, Raphaela Richter, won the 3rd round of the prestigious Enduro World Series. With only 17 years of age, Raphaela destroyed the U21 class in Tweedlove, with on over 4 minutes lead on the number 2.

Raphaela and her Radon Slide Carbon 650B, swept the first 5 stages in the U21 class. After 5 stages she would haven been in the top 5 with the Elite Women.

As Raphaela was struggling on stage 6, she could not keep this top 5 spot in Elite Women, but still secured the big win in the U21 class.

Raphaela Richter:

“What an amazing event, the crowd was insane!  So cool to see that many kids cheering for us. This gave me the extra needed energy to get through the first day which was long and exhausting to me.

I was surprised to be that far in front, because I had some troubles on stage 1, and a flat tire on stage 3. But the over 2 minutes lead after day 1 gave me a huge confidence boost for day 2.

All the stages at Tweedlove where good fun, but to be honest, not so hard as I expected. Stage 6 was more an XC stage then a real Enduro stage to me. I started this stage way to conservative to save energy for the last 3 technical minutes, which maybe cost me the stage win. I am super stoked with this win and looking forward to the German National Championships next week”

James Shirley took a 70th place overall, which was not exactly what he was hoping for.

“Wow what a great event. There was a big variety in the stages and the crowds were brilliant. I really enjoyed it, but I didn’t preform for some reason. At this point I can’t put the finger to it. What can I say is that I am really impressed by Raphaela and the support of the team, special thanks to our mechanic Miles. I felt we had a good atmosphere! In 2 weeks i have a new shot during the SSES in Willingen, I will make sure to be ready!”
