 Press Release:

Summit-X event to coincide with 2014 IMBA World Summit

The Enduro-X Race Series returns for a second season with multi-stage, gravity-oriented races scheduled for July 19-20 and August 16-17, 2014 in Steamboat Springs, CO.  Racer-X Event Productions, parent company of the Enduro-X Race Series, has added a new race event, the Summit-X Enduro on August 24.  The Summit-X Enduro will take place on the final day of  the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) World Summit being held in Steamboat Springs August 20-24.

Enduro-X race weekends will feature multiple stages descending between 3,000 and 2,000 vertical feet on technical mountain bike trails and bike park courses.  Transitions between stages will be served via the Steamboat Gondola.  With new bike trail development at the Steamboat Bike Park planned for summer 2014, course maps and descriptions will be forthcoming.  All events feature Steamboat Bike Park terrain and the mountain’s cross-country single track trails.

Racer categories include Pro-Open, Amateur, Master, and Junior for both men and women.  The Pro- Open categories will compete for a series cash purse of $7500.00 with the overall winners receiving award honors at the Series final August 17.

The new Summit-X event is a benefit race to support local nonprofit bike organizations Routt County Riders (IMBA Chapter) and the Steamboat Bike Town USA Initiative.  The Summit-X race will include a stage beginning at 10,565 feet in elevation descending more than 3,600 vertical to the finish at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area.

“The 2014 Enduro-X Race Series offers new courses and will be a formidable test challenging rider skills and fitness,” said David Scully, Rider-X Event Productions owner and founder/Enduro-X Race Series director and promoter.  “Showcasing Enduro mountain bike racing to a world-wide audience during the IMBA World Summit is an incredible opportunity.  Steamboat Springs is a fantastic venue for IMBA to celebrate trail building efforts and all things mountain biking.  It’s going to be another great summer for cycling in Steamboat Springs.”
