Press Release

PR: iXS Dirt Masters Festival in Winterberg/Germany

Unbelievable but true. The iXS Dirt Masters Festival will be held already for the sixth time this year in Winterberg. From 17 till 20 May the Bikepark Winterberg will be the stronghold of all Gravity fans.

Europe's biggest mountain bike freeride festival should be sitting in someone's diary like your mother's birthday. And for all of those who still accidentally forget your own mother's birthday, use the chance to put her into the car and drive her to Winterberg. There she can see that thousands are infected with the virus and there is nothing wrong with talking about only one thing that matters: mountain bikes

Of course mountain bikes in all facets play the leading role at the festival. It will host first class sport competitions in the Downhill, Fourcross, Slopestyle and Enduro categories, and in addition to that there is plenty of eye and ear candy to sample. There will be plenty of things to watch in the expo area, where more than 180 brands will be presenting new products for the season. The Vans Music Stage offers delights for all ears, and all senses will be satisfied in the Upforce FMX Show: dirt to swallow, petrol to smell, engines to listen, tricks to watch and goosebumps to feel.

As always speed will be the main factor on the downhill track. The iXS Rookies Cup, which gives riders the best start into a possible career as racer since eleven years, starts already on Thursday. The action will continue on the slightly altered course in the next days. As always, the iXS German Downhill Cup will start here in the eyes of many thousands of spectators, with big names already on the starting list.

After a year's break the Schwalbe European 4X Series returns to Winterberg to bring Europe's 4X elite to the start of the Scott 4X Challenge. Thrilling head-to-head races are guaranteed, with the last stop of the EFS in Winterberg being won by no one less than Jared Graves.

The latest hype in mountain biking is Enduro, which cannot be missed out on at this year's festival. Enduro races had been staged in recent years with individual tests included, and even world cup legend Brian Lopes had a try at the stages in and around Winterberg. This year Winterberg is part of the Specialized Enduro Series powered by Sram, the first German Enduro series.

The Slopestyle contest will be the absolute highlight again. After record breaking visitor numbers last year, when the contest was held under flood lights, the organizers added the icing on the cake. Winterberg is now the Gold Event of the FMB World Tour and will host a unique contest under the name Red Bull Berg Line on Saturday night. The SKS Slopestyle Contest will yet again give the two best riders the chance to qualify for challenging the world's big names afterwards.

Time to get those holidays sorted with your boss, or learn how to best simulate being ill, collect good marks or convince the parents. Whatever you need to do to, make sure you are part of the great event. More information can be found at www.dirtmasters-festival.de.
