Miranda Factory Team closes season with podiums

Enduro World Series-E 2021 | Tweed Valley - Scotland

Tweed Valley, the forest park located in the south of Scotland, hosted the final round of the Enduro World Series – E 2021. Characterized by the gloomy British weather, the Innerleithen race was literally the opposite of the last stage in Italy – slippery roots, lots of rain, muddy conditions and a series of very technical trails. The EWS-E athletes found a course with more than 56 km's, three laps that included 14 stages (2 power-stages) and a positive elevation gain of about 3450 m.

Emanuel Pombo once again showed his full potential. The Miranda Factory Team athlete from Madeira managed to recover in record time from his injury on the previous stage in Italy and in Scotland he would conquer an important 5th place in the category. With this result, Emanuel Pombo secured 3rd place overall in the championship standings. “It was without a doubt the toughest race of the EWS-E. The rain made the race brutal and I feel like I had a pretty consistent race. I'm also very happy with the work of the whole team for the result. My effort and results today are dedicated to Miranda. I dedicated my time to a good recovery after Italy to make this possible and it feels so good to fulfill those goals”.

After the bad luck in Italy, Tiago Ladeira performed in Scotland at the highest level, always being in the fight for the top places. The young man supported by Miranda Bike Parts secured a 7th place in the final round. Bagging important points for the Portuguese team, overall, Ladeira is among the top10 in the world (9th place). “It rained all day, with the cold temperatures in the mix. It was a physical race, I made some mistakes here and there and I couldn’t avoid a couple of crashes. It turned out not to be a bad result, as in the other race I didn't get any points. Above all, I'm happy to feel good and to know that I can be in the fight”.

Nuno Reis had a pretty complicated EWS-E 2021 season. Despite a huge potential, bad luck was knocking on the door and Tweed Valley was no exception. The young Portuguese suffered a massive fall on the second lap, ending with a back injury. With enormous effort, Reis would finish the race in 16th place. “It was a very hard race due to the rain and cold, the stages were very fun and with a lot of downhills. On the second lap I had a big fall and injured my back. From then on it was just trying to finish to help the team to be on the podium”.
