MS Mondraker Team Ready to Join DH Season 2013 1

The MS MONDRAKER TEAM presents its new DH structure to achieve new goals in 2013 with several changes on its crew and a new development Team to work (on the future) with the youngest riders.

After a successful 2012 season, MS Mondraker Team has been working on a sweeping project to face the new downhill season. This season the team reinforces its structure with the incorporation of the French rider Morgane Charre (2012 World Champion and 3rd in the overall World Cup) and the British rider Innes Graham (junior rider).

The final set up of the Elite UCI team will be:

Morgane Charre/ FRA
2012 World Champion
3rd in the 2012 World Cup Overall

Damien Spagnolo/ FRA
10th in the 2012 World Cup Overall
Vice-World-Champion 2011

Markus Pekoll/ AUT
1st European IXS Cup #7

Innes Graham/ GBR
1st place Halo BDS round 1, youth class

The team, which won the first place in the UCI Team Ranking Overall in 2012, is focused on bringing home great results in 2013 but will also allocate a part of the effort and acquired experience to train and promote new up and coming riders in the gravity discipline.

For that purpose MS- RACING and the F8 management of team mechanic Andy Ward have created a team of 6 riders that will join the “main squad” over the season and who will be the future values of the MS Team’s structure.

All riders will ride the new Summum Pro Team which this year receives a new Forward Geometry evolution (the advanced geometry concept presented by Mondraker last season) that has been acclaimed and recognized by all cycling media.

The team will also count on the usual infrastructure and the most professional human resources to give support to all their needs. Mechanics, cameramen and supporting staff will give shape to the MS Team structure from the first Wold Cup Race at Fort William on 2013, June 8-9.

Markus Stöckl (MS – Racing Owner):

“After a very strong season and some really great moments in 2012 we are looking forward to continuing our race program and starting our 10th year. We had a very good relationship with Mondraker and Marzocchi last year and are more than happy to continue with these brands to do even work more on the details and closer with the engineers. Also our long-term partners want to stay with us, which shows their trust in our work.

2013 will bring some new team members which are Morgane Charre and Innes Graham. Morgane was proving her skill at last year's world championships in Leogang where she took the stripes and after some talks we thought that she would fit our program perfectly, while Innes is one of Andy Ward's cadets who proved him self several times at nationals in Great Britain and will also be a strong member of our team and his ambitions and skills are very promising. Damien Spagnolo and Markus Pekol showed their potential last year and will complete the team roster. They will also be our figureheads for the young guys from our development team, which will be based in UK and lead by Andy Ward.

The majority of our Crew will be the same as last year so we are sure that we can get top professional support for our riders as well as have fun on the trips when traveling to the World Cups and other races. So there will be lots of fun and good racing for 2013 and if time allows some nice parties too.”

J. Navarro (Mondraker Marketing Manager):

“After last season's success and being first in the overall team ranking, we are very excited with this new structure and the signing of Morgane Charre. On our side, the riders' results have always been very important, but being first in the overall also means that we have one of the best DH bikes on the market, and something even more important, we have a great team spirit. That´s the main reason to build a development team where the youngest riders learn from the experimented ones and make our sport grow.”
