Hi Vital MTB,

DHaRCO’s 2017 Range has landed and you’re invited to the launch at Sea Otter! Booth #385. Come past and say G’Day.

PRESS RELEASE - DHaRCO launches a US office and warehouse.
23 APRIL 2017

DHaRCO launches their 2017 Season Collection at Sea Otter, with gear now available directly from their US base in Bellingham, Washington.

A US website, USD pricing, local shipping and exchange/returns, means easy access to gear and excellent service for the US market.
The US site will officially open 1st May 2017 (www.dharco.com/us)

DHaRCO is Australia’s leading mountain bike apparel brand. Engineered on the beaches of Australia, they’re all about lifestyle and the latest tech. The gear reflects surf culture stylin, a casual vibe, and high performance materials - coming together to make your ride awesome.

DHaRCO believes in simple design for maximum performance. They work hard to be restrained in the design process and include functionality that will improve the ride. Riders design all the gear and stay away from marketing gimmicks.
[An example being zipper mesh vents on shorts. These create a lot of extra friction and bulk which decreases ride comfort. Might sound good on paper, but they don’t ride well. And if you have really high quality breathable fabrics, you don’t need things like vents to bulk up the shorts.]

One of the most frequent comments on their shorts is “You don’t even notice you’re wearing them”. And that really is the point.

DHaRCO sources performance fabrics where the “performance element” is built into the yarns of the fabric, not a chemical applied afterwards - for all their products. This gives superior quick drying and moisture wicking performance and also means it won’t wash or wear out, as it’s built into the fabric construction. It is also more ecofriendly, and we like that!

They also know that cool chicks ride, so have an extensive ladies range for the girls to ride in style.
A favourite comment to describe the womens range was: “You’ve nailed feminine without being girlie” - Summitsports Whistler

The range is designed for trail, enduro and downhill riding. It consists of Short and Long Sleeve Jerseys, Tech Tees and Gravity Shorts, with gloves coming out soon.

Pricing Info:
Short Sleeve (SS) Jerseys: U$55-59.95
Long Sleeve (LS) Jerseys: U$65-69.95
Tech Tees: U$45-49.95
Gravity Shorts: U$95-99.95

Note to editors:

Where is Australia? Does Australia even have mountains?
We are that big island near New Zealand….we just hosted our first EWS in Blue Derby Tasmania, and World Cup Downhill rounds have graced our shores in Canberra and more recently in tropical Cairns.

Most people probably think Australia doesn’t have much mountain biking. It’s true there are no huge mountains, but nonetheless there is a shit hot mountain biking scene all over the country. Road tripping across Australia you literally find awesome mountain biking in almost every town. Let’s name drop for a moment - Sam Hill, Troy Brosnon to name a few of the talents coming out of AU. ;)

Living by the beach, means the DHaRCO crew are inspired everyday by Australian surf culture, and this is reflected in the style and design of the gear. MTBing for them is a lifestyle and they make apparel to reflect their way of life - a relaxed casual vive built on great friends, trails and shredding hard.

Designed to act, not look, like sportswear. What does this mean?
Simply, they aren’t like a lot of the major brands that think and design to make sportswear. DHaRCO designs to make lifestyle clothing that makes them feel good. And they add in great tech to ensure they also ride great.

DHaRCO Philosophy
The crew at DHaRCO believes amazing fabric, a great fit and common sense technical features makes for great bike clothing.
They use simple, functional lines and allow MTB clothing to be influenced by street/surf wear.
So you feel more like you are wearing normal clothes, yet highly technical.

They don’t believe in marketing gimmick features, and focus on what they as riders really want.

Why clothing?
Influenced by Aussie brands like Quiksilver, Billabong, Rip Curl who create functional clothing that looks great. DHaRCO thought the same needed to be done in mountain biking. Cool clothing to make people want to get on their bike even more. And at the same time they wanted more casual apparel options to help support mountain biking culture and it's evolution as a main stream sport, to support it’s growth.

DHaRCO’s motto “no ordinary life” comes from the belief that mountain biking creates an amazing lifestyle. Whoever you are in the day to day world, when you get on the bike life is just awesome. Any stress of the day is gone. Biking gives you a sense of freedom, adrenaline, good times with mates. Not to mention the amazing places to explore, the people and the respect for nature that it creates. They can’t image life not planning the next MTB adventure, road trip or weekend shred!
