Bethel, CT  - March 09, 2012 -During the first week of March, members of Cannondale Factory Racing (CFR) and the Cannondale OverMountain team met in Finale Ligure, Italy for the inaugural all-discipline mountain bike athlete training camp. Throughout the week, this diverse group of XC, endurance, enduro, Super-D and gravity riders met, trained and rocked their new bikes in a location that was made for mountain biking.
“The Cannondale Mountain Athlete Training Camp was a great opportunity to bring all of our professional mountain bike athletes and the unique disciplines they represent together for the first time,” said Bob Burbank, General Manager, Cannondale. “Cannondale’s athletes are core to our DNA.  Bringing them together to ride and test our product and learn from each other in a team camp environment enhances both their experience with the brand and what we learn from them and ultimately results in better product for our consumers.”
The athletes in attendance, included:

“It’s a great opportunity to be able to meet with all of the Cannondale athletes across other disciplines. We learned a lot from each other this week and It was nice to see that OverMountain and modern XC racing are not so different from each other,” said Marco Aurelio Fontana. “With our busy race schedules we don't get much time to be part of events like this and it's a great way to get the season started.”
Located outside of Genoa, Finale Ligure boasts some of the best riding in Europe. All of the athletes were able to take full advantage of the immense networks of trails ranging from XC to DH. This epic setting allowed every athlete to push their limits and experience the performance of their bikes on flowy trails, steep climbs and technical descents.  The bikes they rode include the Cannondale Scalpel 29er, Flash, Flash 29er, Jekyll and Claymore.

“Riding on trails you have never been on makes you realize how good the Jekyll really is,” said Mark Weir. “It’s adventures like this that really expose how good the ride can be and it’s even better to do it with your friends … new and old.”
