SANTA CRUZ, CA - May 2, 2013 - The third enduro race of the 2013 California Enduro Series is scheduled for Sunday, June 30, in Lakeshore, CA.

The 2013 series, which kicked off in Southern California earlier this month with the highly successful PCA Enduro in Riverside and then gathered even more momentum with last weekend's VP/Kali EnduroFest at the Dirt Club in Los Olivos, takes on some serious elevation in the Sierra Mountains next month with the China Peak Enduro. This event will run at China Peak Mountain Resort in Lakeshore, on the south shore of Huntington Lake about 65 miles northeast of Fresno.

"China Peak is relatively unknown to most mountain bikers, but with the amount of elevation, lift-access, and available terrain, it has the potential to host a killer enduro event. I'm really looking forward to putting this one on!" says Evan Turpen of the China Peak Mountain Resort.

The China Peak event promises to be an impressive weekend jam packed with riding, racing and good times with friends. Participants are encouraged to arrive on Saturday for registration/packet pick-up and course inspection/practice (via complimentary lift). Late registration/packet pick-up will be offered first thing Sunday morning, and will be followed by pancake breakfast for registered athletes. The first 50 registered riders will be entered to win an Easton Havoc UST wheelset (retail value $945).

This event is designed to most closely fall in line with the European and Enduro World Series formats. Participants can expect to ride 15-20 miles on race day with approximately 2,500-3,000 feet of climbing and over 5,000 feet of descending. Over the course of the day riders will encounter 3-5 timed primarily downhill special stages along this route.
