The Marin Alpine Trail Carbon is sold in shops and kitted with a FOX 38, XT/SLX drivetrain, and Deity bits. What's next, a frame-only? Oh, wait...
If you were to draw your ideal mountain bike, it might just look something like the new Alpine Trail Carbon. It’s big-wheeled. It’s big travel. It’s beautiful. And it’s Made For Fun — wherever and however you ride.
The Alpine Trail Carbon is based on the popular Alpine Trail range, replicating the progressive 2021 geometry in an all-new high modulus carbon fiber frame. It is the strongest and stiffest Alpine Trail to date. All the better for corner-smashing, jump sending, trail ripping rides. The Alpine Trail Carbon is capable of pretty much anything. Leaving you to enjoy the ride.
A replaceable downtube protector helps protect the bike’s good looks from the perils of flying rocks and other trail debris. There’s also an accessory mount under the top tube to help you carry spares for those long days in the saddle.
With the Alpine Trail Carbon, all-mountain has no limits. Let your imagination take you anywhere — tough climbs, fast singletrack, complicated tech, varying gradients, bike park, or even enduro racing. The bike carries itself with grace no matter what you throw at it.
Alpine Trail Geometry
Using the angles and layout of the 2021 Alpine Trail Aluminum, the Carbon uses proven and progressive geometry for a fun, dependable ride quality.

Its a good deal, but Giant were going similar with a better spec some years ago.
38 with a dpx2 seem's a little out of ballance, spec it for that price with an X2 and that's a winner.

Carbon 1 with no piggy shock is pretty meh.
What's the deal with these bikes still that can take long travel droppers yet are only 30.9mm? I'll take the slight weight penalty of a 34.9mm post for more stiffness (although are companies actually making the telescopic part thicker or just the outside diameter which defeats the purpose of a thicker dropper?)
