After a successful second year, the Blitz 2 the Barrel has become the premier invitational mountain bike race in the US. Hosted in Bend Oregon, the event has been dubbed a renegade race for the past two years. This year, with a $20,000 cash purse, some of the biggest names in professional mountain biking will battle it out from the foothills of Mt Bachelor to Bend’s hippest brewery–10 Barrel Brewing. After racing down 14 miles of singletrack, a section of the Tetherow golf-course, and pavement, the race will finish with competitors chugging a microbrew at 10 Barrel Brewing on Bend's west side. Both Pro Men and Pro Women will be competing for the same purse of $10,000 cash!

Beginning with a mass start, riders from multiple cycling disciplines will compete for four ‘Dash For Cash’ primes, while racing to be the first down a variety of terrain including DH, Trail, XC, and road.

Spectators are sure to witness an exciting show put on by names like Adam Craig, Brain Lopes, Ryan Terbone, Carl Decker, Matthew Slaven, Kelli Emmett, Sue Butler, Chris Shepard and Nathan Riddle to name a few.

The majority of cash will go to the fastest three men and women who finish the ride and slam a pint of beer. The four Dash For Cash Primes will give competitors an additional chance to make some money and WOW the crowd.

Primes ($500 each):

1. Holeshot into the single track

2. Big Air at the Tetherow Club House (AKA...the Man Eater!)

3. Fastest Top Speed on the road at Tetherow Golf Club

4. Arm Wrestling Challenge at 10 Barrel

With $20,000 in cash on the line, this will be the most exciting invitational all-mountain race of the year for both racers and fans. The event culminates with a huge after party at 10 Barrel Brewery where the final test of strength will be an arm wrestling challenge.

Join the fun June 12th in Bend Oregon. Women start at 5:30pm followed by the Men.
