Following the Junior race, Elite Men and Women qualified today for the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill in Snowshoe, West Virginia. This event is the second-to-last race of the 2023 UCI season. Earlier in the week, course conditions were wet and slippery, but the sun has come out, the wind has come up and traction is increasing. The never-ending rock gardens remain tricky and treacherous, as they are still slick, but speeds have picked up. The fields at Snowshoe are smaller than they have been at the European rounds.
