A nice winter storm was exactly what the Fontana, CA course needed this weekend for round #2 of the Winter Series. The ODI Trek Satellite Team looked to repeat on the impressive debut they made two weeks prior. After gathering together on Friday for a team dinner in Temecula where Aaron Gwin introduced the boys to his gluten free Spicy Chicken Pizza, the team spent Friday night making their last preperations at Team Manager Rich Houseman's place. This allowed them an early start on Saturday morning, but unfortunately, the weather had other plans. If you've ever been to Fontana in the middle of a rain storm, you know it's no fun. But once it clears, the normally dry dirt gets super tacky and makes for some of the best riding Southern California has to offer.

Colorado native Matt Branney has asked for a steep and slick course. "This is like ball bearings on rocks," Matt said while trying to get some runs in during the Saturday rains. When it came time for Sunday race times, the dirt was perfect.

Jason Schroeder turned some heads when he finished 2nd in the Junior Expert class. In only his seventh race, Jason has already reached the podium five times. He looked good on his brand new Trek Session 8 which he had been riding every day during the week since building it last weekend. Despite the most technically advanced course Southridge has to offer, Jason proved that the tougher the course, the faster he can go.

Matt Branney and Charlie Harrison both put in solid runs to finish ninth and eleventh, respectively.

In the pro men's class, Team Manager Rich Houseman beat out John Buckell who finished in ninth.

"All of this rain is gonna make my grass grow a lot so I made Buckell and the boys a bet that if I beat them, they've got to mow my lawn, it's part of their training program." Houseman said. Way to push Big House, it'll make them boys that much stronger for round 3!
