New year, new gear - we're always excited when fresh collections start dropping, and in the case of Race Face there's lots to be excited about. Their soft goods collection has everything from slick trail riding gear to hard-hitting freeride outfits, and much of the range has been updated for 2014. New colors and design improvements ensure you'll not only look great but also feel great on your bike this season.

Race Face has been in the game a long time, and over the years our tests have always found their apparel to be both functional and good looking. Poring over the 2014 stuff we're already chomping at the bit to get our hands on the goods to try them out for ourselves. With up to date design and lots of technical innovation on display (iPhone-compatible glove fingers, anyone?), Race Face is clearly as rider-driven as always.

To celebrate the new gear, Mike Kinrade took to the hills of Nelson, BC to bring you this fun launch edit. When you're done getting your stoke on, check out the rad action shots and some of the highlights from the new collection below, then head on over to www.raceface.com for all the details. The goods drop in March, so get ready to get decked out!

There's more news lurking in the protection and casual collections too. The Indy knee guard is a brand new piece of protection which mixes the D3O protective capabilities of the Ambush line with the lightweight, breathable, and pedal-friendly design of the Charge XC guards. There's also the new lightly insulated quilted plaid Loam Ranger jacket for trailbuilding and looking good apres-ride.
