RESULTS - World Champs Men's Short-Track XC

The first-ever XC Short Track for the Elite Men at a UCI Mountain Bike World Championships took place today in Val di Sole, Italy. Competitors representing their countries at World Champs tackled a tight and intense course under dry, loose conditions for 8 laps and 20 minutes of racing. Combining elements like a rocky, technical climb, 4x track berms and jumps in between a steep fireroad climb and loose, flat corners, the XCC racers were wheel-to-wheel and bar-to-bar with physical contact in corners and on climbs.

USA rider, Christopher Blevins is the 2021 XCC World Champion. He played the frantic race perfectly, remaining in touch despite a few different rider breakaways mid-race and used his power on the final climb to get toward the front and make his move near the final sprint finish for a rainbow jersey and gold medal. Race favorite, Brazil's Henrique Avancini earned a silver medal and Germany's Max Brandl finished 3rd.
