After practicing all week in the dry, the heavens opened up on La Thuile on the night before the race, making the already challenging special stages even more treacherous. The organizers shuffled the stages around a bit to try and give the most difficult track more time to recover, but there was still a lot of slip sliding going on. Birthday boy Sam Hill remained unfazed however, taking all three stage wins for a clean sweep of day - a feat matched by Cecile Ravanel, although the women saw their third stage cancelled after a lengthy course hold (caused by the evacuation of an injured rider in the men's field). Eddie Masters continues his impressive recent form, coming off a great World Cup DH result and now sitting pretty in second place overall here in Italy after another impressive display. Can he hold on tomorrow for his first ever podium? Stay tuned to find out!
