RESULTS - Qualifying, Snowshoe World Cup Downhill #2 11

The last World Cup DH qualifying round of 2021.

The final UCI World Cup Downhill race of 2021 taking place in Snowshoe, West Virginia, had its qualifying and seeding sessions today. This is round two of a double-header event taking place this week. The first race took place on Wednesday and was held at Snowshoe to make up for the canceled Fort William World Cup earlier this season. Race two of the week features a slightly different course than race one, but uses a lot of the same sections.

World Cup Downhill qualifying usually offers points toward the UCI World Cup overall title, but this final race does not provide qualifying points to make race day an all-or-nothing affair. Managing fatigue from a long week of racing is one of the challenges of a double-header event. While riders may want to take qualifying easy to save energy for race day, the times have been close all week and every millisecond counts for those unprotected riders not guaranteed a race-day position.
