RESULTS - Qualifying, Leogang World Cup Downhill 12

Still greasy, but manageable for qualifying day in Leogang.

Qualifying for the first round of the 2021 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is in the books. Cruising social media, the track still looks wet and muddy, but the lower woods seem more rideable and less sticky than yesterday with potential for some consistency.

Leogang and the Elite Men do their thing again with Troy Brosnan absolutely destroying the field by 6.7 seconds. So we have him as the outlier, and then ridiculously close times throughout the rest of the field with multiple riders being in the same second of finishing. Thibaut Daprela was on a heater of a run with green splits until something went sideways, slotting him into 3rd. #USDH bruiser, Dak Norton in 4th is epic!

Plenty of OTB crashes in woods area. Charlie Harrison went down in the muddy woods and was seen holding his arm. We hope he's ok. Loris OTB there, Jamie Edmondson OTB there.

Vali Holl steps up from Juniors to Elites and puts a 2.2-second lead into the women's field with a 4:16.8 ahead of Myriam Nicole at 4:19. #USDH racer, running under the Norwegian flag in Leogang, Frida Ronning slotted in nicely with a 14th and stoked to see Mazie Hayden and Abigail Hogie running the stars and stripes in Austria!

Chris Grice, #USDH ripper went fastest by over two seconds with a 3:49 in the Junior Men's field with a heavy field of groms on his six and solid #USDH representation on the field!

Sophie Gutorle had a very solid time to seed fastest in the Junior Women's class. #USDH pinner, Ella Erickson found herself in 4th place! She arrived in Leogang but her bike didn't right away, making for a hectic start to the weekend. Way to pull it together!
