RESULTS - P2V Invitational Les Gets 1

A French track and some of the world's best riders produced some exciting racing for this invitation-only event that replaced the cancelled World Cup in Les Gets.

Should the World Cup just be handed over to the French to run? After seeing the organizers of the P2V Invitational deliver a course that was unanimously praised by the riders, it certainly seems that you could do a lot worse than pick a random French mountain side and ask the locals to tape up a track. Fast open sections mixed with big jumps and steep, technical woods is a recipe for success, and you know that when it comes to cooking, the French know their stuff.

The P2V Invitational was put on by a local club in response to the cancellation of the Les Gets World Cup that would have been held here this very weekend. 30 riders were invited to take part, and with a lot of fast names in attendance, it was good show. There was actually a webcast produced which mimicked the conditions of a live transmission, even if it took place one day late. We were surprised by the number of cameras used and the general level of production was very high - a great substitute for the racing that has so far been taken from us this season. And on that topic, the event was also a great warm-up for the riders who are now looking ahead to Crankworx, the World Champs in Leogang and the two double-header World Cups that will close out the year in Slovenia and Portugal. Yay racing!
