The first hint of speed on the 2015 World Cup downhill circuit has arrived today in the form of timed training in Lourdes, France. Gee Atherton (GT Atherton Racing), Rachel Atherton (GT Atherton Racing) and Laurie Greenland (Trek World Racing) were fastest in their classes.
Competitors had their first day of riding practice on the rough, steep and aggressive course and by the end of the afternoon, the Top 80 Elite Men, Top 20 Elite Women and Top 10 Juniors had their official timed session. While there is no protocol for competitors to ride at race pace, the top times are solid indicators of what's to come during qualifying and possibly race day should conditions remain consistent.
Dirt Magazine is reporting that Sam Hill did not practice due to shoulder injury and will decide tomorrow if he will attempt to race.

Until points are on the line, the times are just numbers on a piece of paper. Not only that, this is only day one for the riders on the new track.

I guess what I'm trying to say is "hurry the hell up with the slideshow and raw vids!!!". Please? Thanks!!!
Also, really hoping Hill is in form enough to carry on...whatever may be the issue. We're already down on Steel and Chainsaw...don't steal our Thunder!!!
