RESULTS and VIDEO: Jack Moir and Ella Conolly Win EWS Burke Pro Stage

The times were tight as racing got underway in Vermont.

Cannondale Enduro’s Ella Conolly and Jack Moir (Canyon Collective) took first blood at EWS Burke 2022 with wins on the Pro Stage.

Scotland’s Conolly shrugged off her EWS Val Di Fassa elbow injury to come down around 5.5s  faster than fellow Briton Bex Baraona (Yeti/Fox Factory Team) in a time of 7:08.92. German’s Raphaela Richter of Ibis Enduro Team was in third more than two seconds behind Baraona. Series leader Isabeau Courdurier of Lapierre Zipp Collective ended up in 12th after losing around 20 seconds near the top of the course. Whistler winner Harriet Harnden of Trek Factory Racing ended up in fourth.

In the EWS Men, 2021 series champ Moir clocked a 6:04.48 on the drying stage which was significantly less slick in the technical rocky, root-filled top section than in practice on Saturday morning. EWS Men’s series leader Jesse Melamed of Rocky Mountain Race Face was just under a second back on the Aussie. And the USA’s Richie Rude rounded off the top three, 1.78s behind Moir.
