Australian National Champs are being held in Bright, Victoria this weekend. Jared Graves has already taken 2nd in the XC, and is set to absolutely destroy the field in the Eliminator today. The DH track in Bright is the most brutal and fun track we have seen all season. Loose and dusty the whole way down. DH seeding was not a true representation of the state of the union, with a lot of people having issues. Troy Brosnan's bike fell off the uplift trailer, and was unrideable, leaving Troy no option but to just break the timing beams at the start of seeding. New bars and stem should see him be ready to rip it up come race day. Tracey Hannah obliterated the women's field, but Tegan Molloy (in U19's women) crashed out multiple times which meant she was not as close to Tracey as we might expect her to be. Mick Hannah took it to the rest of the field in elite men's With a 7 second gap back to Connor Fearon in 2nd, leaving both Troy and Connor with work to do come race day. The steep dusty track might ultimately lend itself more to Troy's bag of tricks than Mick's, but without a clean seeding run it's hard for everybody to know how much to push. Troy will be first out the start gates on race day, giving him a clean and dust-free track, which could make a difference.
