He's done it! The DH legend that is Sam Hill has joined the very elite, illustrious club of EWS race winners, fending off Nicolas Vouilloz over 2 gruelling days of incredibly tight racing in Valberg, France. Hot on the heels of announcing that he will be focussing 100% on enduro in 2017, the flat pedal thunder from down under put his Nukeproof on the very top step of the podium. We couldn't be more stoked! Listen in as Sam chats to Sven just after stage 7 - he sounded relaxed, a sign of what was to come:
As for the overall, with Richie Rude finishing 7th here in Valberg, everything is still to play for - Damien Oton could still catch him if disaster strikes in round 8. Stay tuned!
In the women's, let's not forget about Cecile Ravanel continuing her outrageous domination, even though she is being constantly pushed by Isabeau Courdurier. With the win here in Valberg, Cecile clinches the overall for the year!

It's a select group (of 3 men and 2 women?) that have won a WC DH, WC DH overall, DH champs, an EWS, and for Mosley the EWS overall.
But it's a select group of 1 who have done it on flat pedals!
