FINAL RESULTS: Rude and Ravanel Victorious in Ainsa 1

Start to finish leads both in the men's and women's categories as the race in Ainsa went off under sunny skies.

As per usual, it all came down to the last stage. After 32 minutes of racing, only 8 seconds separated leader Richie Rude from Martin Maes, and the final stage would prove just as tight at the top. Richie laid down a smoking run to claim the early lead, and while Maes actually went faster he only did so by less than 0.5 seconds, leaving the American to hoist another trophy - it's always good to see Richie back and putting the hurt on the field! Series leader Sam Hill fought his way back up to 11th place after a puncture ended his race win hopes on day 1, which leaves him with a comfortable margin heading to the final race in Finale (Sam is still 440 points ahead by our calculations, which means he can finish 45th in Finale if Martin wins there, and still take home the overall).

In the women's, Cecile won comfortably but did give up a couple of stage wins to hard-charging Isabeau Courdurier who finished 50 seconds back in second place. Andreane Lanthier Nadeau confirmed her recent good form with her first podium finish of 2018 in third.
