FINAL RESULTS - Jack Moir and Morgane Charre Win EWS Finale Ligure

Wow - the season is winding down but they keep cranking up the suspense in the title race!

It was a long day in the saddle, with 50 kms of pedaling and over 2000 meters of climbing on the menu. The weather kept the racers honest as well, with some rain falling on stage 4, but nothing too dramatic and everybody had their chance at laying down the runs they wanted. After having Richie Rude take the win and the overall lead at the last event, Jack Moir bounced right back and took back control again with a solid win here in Finale. With Richie finishing "only" in fifth place, and Jack also doing better than Richie in both the Pro Stage and the Queen Stage, Jack is now back in the lead with 75 points of cushion - which is really not much at all. It all comes down to what's going to happen in Scotland in 2 weeks' time!

In the women's race, Morgane Charre bounced back after finishing 7th in yesterday's Pro Stage, winning the first 2 stages of the main day of racing. She backed off a little after that, but it was enough to see her climb onto the top step of the podium for the first time this season. She also closed the gap to series leader Melanie Pugin a bit, but overtaking her in Scotland would still be a tall order. We'll see you then to discover how it will all unfold!
