It always seems to take forever to come around, yet somehow, it's always over too soon. The 2016 edition of the Red Bull Rampage was in many ways a reset of the event that has shaped big mountain riding for 14 years or so. Nobody really knew what to expect with a return to an all-natural format, but the least you can say is that it certainly did not hold the riders back. After 10 days of hard work, the ridges of Virgin, Utah were once again transformed into a gigantic playground for the world's best to duke it out for the the ultimate title in freeride. And after lots of drama, wind holds, and huge, mind-blowing moves, Brandon Semenuk once again stood on the top step of the podium - adding to his 2008 win and joining a very elite club of double Rampage winners.
The Inaugural Kelly McGarry Spirit Award: Conor MacFarlane. Conor battled through an incredibly rough week with countless crashes including one in each of his two finals run, certainly a worthy recipient of this rider-voted prize.
Best Trick: Carson Storch, 360 drop.
Polaris People's Choice Award: Brandon Semenuk
Healing vibes to Graham Agassiz who went down hard on one of the biggest features on the mountain. He broke his pelvis and will reportedly be out for 8-10 weeks, without requiring surgery.
Brandon Semenuk's Winning Run:
2nd place Antoine Bizet's incredible double backflip:
Carson Storch's 3rd place run:
