Screenshot 2024-02-26 at 3.47.34 PM This beauty is collecting dust in my shed and I have a decision to make in getting it rideable again: keep its original intention as a dual crown, 26" downhill smasher, or turn it into a mini-mullet with a long travel single crown? I don't think I'd go full on Remi and put a 24"x2.8 wheel on the back, but the frame rides a bit small for me so it'll be a freeride park/shuttle machine either way.

Getting the fork serviced will be about the same price as buying a 190mm Domain, so opening up this discussion to people who might have some good ideas one way or the other. Also, hit me up if you want to buy!

Good ol iron horse. Used to regularly see ones like that for sale near me for a dime a dozen. Well, not actually that cheap, but you get the idea.

If that were mine I’d keep it very similar to how it is now, but that’s only because I’ve never ridden a mini mullet and have no clue what they feel like.

Also, that’s a solid ding in the downtube lol (assuming it’s not a trick of the light). That things seen some action.

Had a buddy get one powder coated and threw a bunch of new parts on it, put in an angle set and a 27.5 front with the 26 rear. Takes a bit to stand out in the whistler bike park but every man and his dog would comment on that thing.

Luckily they didn't skimp on tubing size with these frames! Still solid, can't say the same for the tree I hit though

Any context on how it rides with the 27.5 front? I love my 29/27.5 mullet and would hope those characteristics translate to a mini setup, but obviously quite a few factors.

Do you know what angleset he used?

Slackened it out 1 degree, said it was awesome for ripping park laps.

Had a Sunday a long time ago, used it with a sc-fork and a normal headset, then put a dc-fork with a -2 angleset and then a -3 custom angleset. Although it was fun even with the sc-fork, the Sunday’s a race machine - it requires a dc-fork to really shine. Mine was 65 HA originally, so the -3 angleset put it around 62ish, had a friend that managed to get a custom -4 angleset which was at the limit, but his frame was 66 HA originally, so we were on par. Having so slack HA really transforms it!
