riders can be added if left off b/c of an error. unless the quali list is updated and the update is made known, there's not an obvious way for us to find out. if a rider is left off a list and not in the game, they're not accesible to everyone playing the game, so game remains fair. not and ideal situation, however. who is the rider?

one huge issue with making changes after we've opened picks is that increases to rider costs may cause a player to have exceeded their budget.

No info either way other than he said he was going to be there. I think last race Gwin’s team wasn’t on the start list but raced

at ft bill, gwin's team wasn't on entry list but they were on the quali start list. sven said "tyler is racing" when i asked, so who knows? hopefully it's only clerical and tyler can actually race if he's there. he's a winning contender in junior.

I had three of the four winners from Ft William, definitely the best I’ve ever done at fantasizing ever.

saw some clues in WynTV that seem to suggest my dominance will continue

The funny thing is with how the cost system works, Heather Wilson was the only one of the winners you wanted on your team. I had Asa as well but he ended up being the 2nd most expensive rider per point, excluding the 3 dnf /dq  riders I had in the elite mens.

just got word tyler is not racing. he crashed in finale trying to help film for the enduro squad and broke his wrist. mega bummer.

He's a first year junior, and a kiwi at that, so just tape him to the bar and he'll be right, right...?

round is open.

https://www.vitalmtb.com/fantasy/2024/bielsko-biala

there's all day today, tomorrow and saturday to make picks. that's plenty of time. it's going to be like this every round. we don't open until quali start list is posted and the data is entered. the difference between ft bill and poland start lists is significant. sure, most of the hitters are going to be in there on race day between rounds, but there's too much room for error to be adding/deleting/adjusting riders in between and if the list is constantly changing, it's not fair for players who play early and don't realize things have changed.

the difference between entry list and actual quali start lists this week was about 15 riders in total. those are 15 riders you could have picked that aren't even racing (like martin maes, eddie masters, matthew walker). by waiting for quali start list to be published and then game to open, you can't pick riders who aren't dropping in for quali (unless they get hurt).

Does this work like the VitalMX and if you miss your picks it auto-picks at 75% of your budget?

Thanks for the update. I’d just asked in the racing thread about him. That sucks so bad.

I need a reminder on the schedule. Its qualies and semis same day, and then finals Sunday?

So the Fantasy meta would def be waiting until semis are done and just making sure all riders are in the finals. Or are there still valuable points to be made in semis or even qualies to where that isnt the focus. Its just about picks outperforming their value.

Alright, time to forget all maths, stats and logic... When 3 Irish riders make it to the final, you gotta put them all in your team!

Did I really just win this round ?  Are the results confirmed?

Did I really just win this round Woohoo?  Are the results confirmed?

It appears you won… but you must also live with the shame of knowing you did so by betraying the people’s champion, Stak Norton, by leaving him off your team. Laughing

you have to create a new team each round or a team will be auto-picked for you (stated on rules page). rider values change each race, so a team picked at race #1 for $1m could be valued over $1m and blow the budget at race #2.

I did not realize you could set your teams that late and essentially guarantee finals riders. I picked 10 riders during qualifying and 8 of them made finals. I felt pretty good about that. Very good results. Then I looked at the teams at the top of the pack and they just had like 18 riders all in the finals. Guess I need to adjust me approach. Definitely too late for this season. LOL! I'll push for the top 500! Currently mid pack not taking advantage of the late changes.

I had 3 out of 4 winners: Ronan, Marine & Asa, I had one 2nd (Erice), one 4th (Tll Alran), one 5th (Amaury) and one 6th (Vali) Jordan in 16th, an Dak ant Pontvianne (31st & 30th)... So I when I saw the results I imagined I scored higher. Maybe actual winners should get bonus points? Wink

What a race though..

It is relatively easy to buy most of the podium thanks to the budgets and swapping after semis.

In your case your 2 most expensive riders (Dak and Vali) had bad results, which other players might have been able to buy 4 top 10 riders for their price.

I personally never even looked or had interest in any type of sport fantasy league game play.   But if it had to do with MTB,  I was surely gonna dip my toes into the game.  My first go with Ft. Bill was a learning curve to see how much time and depth I had to invest in the riders I chose.  Not fully knowing the details of the game I didn't change a few riders that didn't even qualify, but I was still content with the riders that I did choose and they all did fairly well.  With the amount info available to read and view how riders actually look on the course leading up to the race really helps.  Thanks VitalRAW and the forums for the coverage to help show Fantasy players onto who is who and who is hot or not that week.  I'm hooked!
