I'm a destination, oh so fine,
For skiers and snowboarders, I'm truly divine.
A stop on the tour, I'm proud to say,
Part of the expansion, in a major way.
But don't expect snow, I'm a different sight,
A dirt stop awaits, a new delight!

Verbier? Has a bike park, is a stop on the freeride world tour, and has hosted IXS cups.

Haha yea, guy posting is from Whistler. It's known they want a world cup there. It's part of the 'tour' (Crankworx tour). It's a ski destination, etc.
Super stoked if so. Wayyyyyy overdue. Will be massive event.
That said, shouldn't this rumor be in the 2025 race thread, not team rumors?

This afternoon I was thinking The Tour being Alpe D'Huez as it has a famous Tour de France climb.
Then Loic posted this evening about Meribel.  They have had Le Tour de France stop there, it's not quite as devine as neighbouring Courchevel, but it is still trying to be swanky in winter. Also Whistler could be it. Also Verbier is very very devine my darlings, Verbyah!

Not a rumor, rather total speculation. Lachie Stevens McNab to a big factory team next year. Can feel it in my PLUMS.

It is divine, even if folks don't agree with you.

I'm gonna guess it's just gonna be another European location, the heavenly thing makes me think it'll be at a place named after a saint and there's thousands of places named after saints in the EU. UCI and potential venues don't seem keen to move outside of the EU anyways.

Canyon? Or moving up to Trek Factory Racing and swapping spots with Loris if he's off to Canyon?

or maybe THE UNION gets 7-figure funding since they're doing better than most of the full factory teams 🤩

Imagine Lachie, Oli Davis & Jackson Goldstone on the same team is my thinking!  Wink

Trek would also be a good fit.

Union is doing a fantastic job, if the rumours of 15 rounds are right, I hope they can financially float that project.

Per Sven on the Downtime it's going to be more like 10 next season because teams need time to find additional funding to support the additional costs new rounds.

Downtime podcast with Sven this week discussed the number of rounds next year.

Sounds like WB/Disco proposed 13 rounds plus world champs around the world to the teams, however team budgets are still tight and the teams said that while this may be ideal it’s not feasible next year so it looks like a EU centric season with 9 rounds plus worlds.

Watch here at with the number of rounds at 46:53.

Screw Europe-based big teams, they need to adapt to a less European-centric racing not to get more funding. UCI didn't wait for Kiwis and American racers to get more funding to be able to travel across the word.
The goal is not to allow Europeans to travel easily but to give a fair chance to all racers all across the globe..

Almost all the big teams are European though. If they all disappear, there's no teams. You can't make that change overnight without losing the whole sport's infrastructure along with it.

That's my point. There are already teams and potential funding in US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and potentially South America. They are not going to develop if we wait for euro-centric mega team to be comfy. The goal is not to bring the euro show abroad but to give a chance to other entities. if some small euro teams disappear, maybe some others will appear.
BTW most mega teams (Specialized, Trek, SRAM, Fox, etc) already have resources across the world.
I don't buy the idea that Loic, Amaury, Vali won't show up out of the Europe, their team will find a way..
Enduro racers (and privateers) have been able to race over the world, Americans, Australians kiwis have been able to do it. It will just be a more leveled playing field.
DH racing doesn't need more big trucks, more money, more TV,  it needs more racers and a more global culture. In a long run it's a win-win if athletes and brands can be exposed to more markets.

Good luck convincing Weiner Bros of that........

Andorra would fit the description for a back garden... So new french rider on Commençal Muc-off? That would probably mean Maples is off to somewhere else
