new bike

im looking at buying a new downhill bike and im on a limited budget of about 2000 because i am a high school student and paying for it myself, im 5 foot 4 120 pounds. what do you think my best choice would be for a bike under 2000? thanks

I'm not sure if there is a Canadian distributor, but YT (Young Talent) has some killer frames and spec for crazy low cash. And they have Mads Haugen and Andreu Laconaguy riding for them, so the frames can't be too bad.

Used. Look around craigslist, fleabay, pinkbike/mtbr classifieds, etc etc. This time of the year, plenty of people offload their current rides, getting ready to buy next year's....good deals to be had on 1-yr old bikes.
