this is only about 7 years off the back.

is freeriding officially worth something now? i thought it was worth something in 2002, but i guess i was wrong

here's a quote. so lame

"Although the traditional mountain-biking segment has been soft in recent years, freeride and related styles that incorporate speed, technical skill and gravity-defying jumps and stunts are capturing the popular imagination. Venues like Crankworx at Whistler Mountain Park in British Columbia, Canada are drawing thousands to nine days of freeride events. Major manufacturers are rushing freeride models to market, and Web sites are building a thriving business providing hard-core mountain bikers news, advice and videos."

Now every local bike shop will have as many freeride bikes as they do road bikes, and every shop employee will know as much about chainguides and suspension as they do about plastic frames and climbing wheels.

Viva la revolucion!

My favorite part of that whole press release is the first sentence. Where they call it "skilled mountain biking. "

I had no idea that Vital was building a thriving business providing hard-core mountain bikers news, advice and videos. I was convinced they were just hoarding swag and fuckin around.

The only thing hard core about Spomer is the all male pornography he watches, and maybe the beard when he's running it.
