March 12, 2015 – (Santa Barbara, CA) VP Components (VP) is proud to announce a new partnership with one of mountain biking’s newest and most recognizable stars, Nicholi Rogatkin. The partnership with Nicholi will see him competing exclusively on VP pedals at the top level of Slopestyle MTB in the FMB Diamond Series, as well as providing technical feedback on future products from top-shelf offerings down to more affordable models that will find their way onto complete bikes.

A recent cross-over from BMX, Rogatkin brings an exciting new flare to MTB competition. He has a bag full of huge tricks, and charged out of the gates in 2014 as one of a few riders to throw big technical moves like the cash-roll. Overall, Nicholi has had a very successful rookie season, winning 26TRIX in Leogang an FMB World Tour Gold event and backing that up with 5 podiums over the course of the year.

“Nicholi is certainly a rider you’ll want to follow,” stated Erik Saunders, Brand Manager for VP. “Despite rising to the top fast, he has kept his down to earth attitude with a strong, level head, work ethic and dedication to his sport. We could not imagine a more perfect fit for our company.”

“I am happy to be a part of the VP team this year,” said Rogatkin. “They really understand what it means to work with athletes, and I look forward to the season.”
Nicholi will be riding on VP’s premium flat pedal, the VP-Harrier. The VP-Harrier is a work of modern engineering. At just 362 grams per pair, the forged aluminum body is optimized for low weight without sacrificing durability. The low weight is due to the use of polymer bearings and a forge-optimized body. The VP-Harrier is also BIG providing a very supportive platform assuring greater stability and an incredible connection to the bike. At the same time, the Harrier’s 12mm body design keeps pedal strikes to a minimum and lowers the rider's center of gravity for an overall improved feel on the trail.

Cooperating with top athletes is especially important to VP because of what it means for customers who use VP products. “It’s a win-win situation for everyone,” said Erik Saunders. “Nicholi’s feedback will be a crucial part of our design process and help us ensure the superiority of our end product.”

“At VP we are production experts,” stated Saunders. “We are one of a handful of companies that controls the entire manufacturing process every step of the way.” VP’s commitment to cutting-edge design, production and engineering means that every component made uses the best materials for the job and the most revolutionary designs ensuring the best functioning product available.

For over 30 years, VP Components has been a manufacturer of pedals, headsets, and bottom brackets and now hubs and complete wheel sets for the OEM market and the aftermarket under the VP Brand. Based in Taiwan and with factories throughout Asia, VP Components is an industry power house supplying just about every major bicycle brand with the parts, and manufacturing expertise that they need to offer their bicycles to the world. VP’s US offices are based in Santa Barbara, CA.
