Following Stevie Smith's unfortunate passing, word began to spread about the possibility of a ghost-lap in his honor. The idea was first dreamt up by Pinkbike user Hwulex and quickly made the rounds among pros and fans alike. Today the UCI confirmed that this will happen at Fort William. We'll be cheering you on, Stevie!

This would be awesome.

Thank you UCI! It means allot to us racers in the PNW who seriously looked up to him. His legacy is something that will be told for decades. Gotta admit- a tear keeps welling up everytime I think about it. And every ride is just a bit more sentimental.

I had thought about posting something like that also. In Steve's' honor, the win could go to Steve by .001 no matter who actually wins at Ft William. Of course all of the riders would have to agree to it. I don't think any of them would object
