We have found a sight to have Indoor BMX racing in Greeley, CO, at Island Grove. We would really like to include 4X racing to the program and are trying to get the word out to the Mountain Bikers. Check out www.cibmx.org for some more details.

So far its Jan 2-3, Feb 13-14, Mar 27-28
Between the Feb race and the Mar race, the track will most likely stay set up, so possible practices during the week.
UCI "random" gates.

If you have any questions, I can try to answer them. There is also a question/ answer sight on the web page.

Thanks, Zip

Absolutely! The more riders we get the more that show up, the more variety of classes we can form. The BMX format is already set up to put beginners with beginners and experts with expert to make the racing more competitive.
Thanks

I'm not sure if I can get a prepaid card, but I'm definitely interested and I know riders who would be really excited to have a break from the snow. Keep up the work and keep us posted on the progress!

Yes it does. It's going to be like a punch card that you can spend when you want. As of right now, we are still working out the details of the practices, and how much of the track is going to be left up. I will know more about practices (times and days) the first week of Dec.
Thanks, Zip

The Utah indoor BMX races get a really good turnout. Usually 30+ motos for all 3 days during the weekend they are run. We had over 40 last Sunday, with a really good draw for the Pro-Am race which has a cash payout and runs the random UCI gate. Good luck with this!

We've got 2 different ways to run the 4X riders.

First, the Mountain bikes can be run in the BMX Cruiser class. The class is for 24" wheels and larger. If this happens, There will be plenty of different classes for all riders. The Cruiser class is broke down into age brackets, 8yr old i believe is the youngest, then once you hit 17 yrs old it goes in 5 yr increments. I think this is how they run the Mountain bikes in Colo Springs at Pikes Peak races.

Second, The 4X riders can run separately. If this happens, I think we're going to have to see who shows up, and break down the classes that way.

Either way, there should be at least 3 Mtn Bike classes, and Cruiser classes, and Pro-Ams available. There has also been discussion about running the top 4, 4X finnishers, and the top 4 BMX guys and having a Bragging Rights Open.

The races that are run in UT... How are they combining the classes at those races?

Thanks, Zip

Hey, I'm really interested too!

One question though: do you need to have a full face helmet in order to race?? I don't got one with me right now...

Thanks!

Hey Zoro, Sorry didn't get back to you sooner. Full face helmets are strongly suggested to race, but in the MTN Bike Opens, it not mandatory.
Come on out, and have a good time.

Since it's snowing right now here in Northern Colorado, wanted to remind everyone that next weekend we have Indoor Racing in Greeley. On Saturday after the races, stick around and get some practice in and feast on the food at the Pot Luck.
For more info, CIBMX.org
