So I just got this great new Eargon carbon pro saddle, it fits good but I can't return it. The edges of the saddle are this horrible light blue that is very different from the blue currently on my frame and it just looks horrible when paired together. Im really hoping I could just color it in black but I need something that won't rub off on my shorts when I sit on it, something that won't fade over time and won't wash off in the rain or mud. Would permanent marker work? The material is similar to leather but I think its synthetic....any help would be much appreciated!!

Tape it off a spray paint? Rit won't work on most synthetic materials.

Back in the day punk kids would spray paint their jean jackets black because Rit dye couldn't even get denim completely black, it also sorta helped make the jacket repel water.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Rit makes a dye for synthetics called Dye More. Plenty of folks have had success dying synthetic saddles in Rit (google it!) but it requires submerging the seat in a boiling hot dye solution. Upholstery paint might also work and is available at most automotive stores. Hope that helps, happy dying.
