Ryan Leech is pretty rad and he got to ride his bike on those crazy terraces and ancient ruins. Plus back then, a bunny hop to manual up three stairs was a banger of a clip.

K2 was trying to be a serious player in the freeride scene at the time. Noleen dual crown forks, gigantic old gustav brakes, and a few dudes still willing to hike for hours to ride down a super steep in 30 seconds for a guy sitting on the next hill over with a mega-telephoto lens to capture the whole giant skid.

That cheesy One Minute Silence song, the predictable cuts on the beat to establish the landscape, the "local time lapses." Oh the good old days. But hate on this all you can, at least it was all shot on film and not some hand-held dslr they got in the mail last tuesday.

This was the first freeride flick I ever saw. Leech had me stunned, especially those drops to total flat...

Yeah dude, I actually have Kranked 1, 2 and 3. Those were the vids I watched when I first started back in high school. It's cool watching those old movies and realizing how far the sport has come in ten years or so. Those K2 Animals were hilarious and Leech was still killing it back then.

I'm on the "this is awesome" bandwagon. It was the first MTB movie I saw and got me stoked on freeride. This video ended up costing me thousands of dollars and numerous trips to the hospital, but It got me hooked on the sport! Nice work Bjorn!
