I just watched some of the Scott Genius 27.5+ test here on vital. Aside from it being a Scott Genius test, it was an interesting piece. Given the larger "contact patch" of 27.5+, I'm wondering if anyone at Rampage is ramping-up to the bigger tires? Gaining speed (and holding it) doesn't seem like a big issue at this venue, and certainly a more stable tire might be just the thing. Are any of the riders sizing-up?

We've heard rumors.

Consider this though - when was the last time you saw someone flicking around/tricking a 29er? In addition, the larger tires seem far less stable on fast lips and big landings. But, if your line involved blasting straight down the hillside, maybe it'd wouldn't be too bad?

Wasnt logan B. riding enduro 29 on rampage a couple of years ago? This year there will be some 27.5 bikes since it is new standard and riders ride what they get, also 27.5 is not so clumsy compared to 26 so everyone should be allright because of that

Nah, Bingelli was on a 29 KHS if I remember correctly, Mike Montgomery was on an Spec Enduro but I think it was a 26.

Besides problems noted above, the tires are too light (casing) to be considered for teh gnar of Rampage...

I think you have 27.5 and 27.5+ confused. 27.5+ (also referred to as 27+) uses a huge tire. Some people refer to them as semi-fat bikes.

Those silly over sized tires are designed to run at lower pressures. They would simply roll or pinch flat upon landing.
