It would be nice to see giant being competitive on the wc circuit and isn't the glory ready for a refresh to?

Given the fact that they've dropped the Glory from a few markets, I'd be surprised if they gave it much of a refresh.

is Giant going to continue their DH program? the glory isn't sold in the US (hasn't been for a few years), and i seem to recall someone here saying it's no longer sold in Australia either.

If they signed Remi last year they must have some sort of program or plan lined up. Maybe they had intended to launch a glory and have been unable to due to manufacturing of other models taking priority over a low volume model right now. He'd be the one of bring on to help design a new DH bike.

They're probably going to be like intense and just run a factory team on a bike nobody can buy lol.

last race of the season and still no juicy rumors??! it's starting really slow this year :D

On the enduro side, Robin Wallner is stepping down from racing but will remain in charge of the Ibis enduro racing team:

"Robin Wallner began his EWS career in Finale in 2014. Today, at the same venue, he is announcing his “retirement” at the end of the 2021 Enduro World Series.

Robin was our Team Captain. The heart and soul of our race program. This is why we’re beyond stoked that while he is stepping back from racing, he is stepping into a new role as Ibis Enduro Team Manager."

It would seem a bit strange for Trek not to re-sign Jackson Goldstone, I know they have quite a few talented riders on the WC teams, but they also have a history of maintaining sponsorships for freeride guys for long periods of time. How long have Semenuk and Rheeder been on Trek? And which category would they view Goldstone under?

|

He would have to be signed in the fist place for them to be able to resign, which he isn´t.

|

Jackson is actually on the Miranda team. FWIW, Emanuel Pombo is riding Scott frames (and I think Ohlins suspension) racing for the Miranda team.

Sorry that's my bad, I assumed he had some kind of contract because he's been riding Trek frames for so long.

What is this…. Some kinda wish list to Santa!? And what’s with the percentages?

Tuhoto Ariki-Pene to Syndicate

|

I feel like the lack of rumors is pretty odd… normally we’re hearing quite a bit more by this point in the season. Given supply/lead time issues at the moment, are companies too preoccupied to put together budgets?

Jackson said in an interview that he went with Miranda so he can keep his current deals... So, while he's not on the factory team, he seems to have some sort of support from Trek..

I wonder if there are so few rumors due to most teams deciding the re-sign their current racers. Perhaps with how crazy the supply chains have been, they don't want any more "uncertainty" by signing new racers.

I think there is a lot less going on this year. Warner have been good to us last couple of years, even though not directly, but he has allways sort comfirmed that there is this or that rumor.

Only thing form the live feed is that There is a spot on the giant team.

I would not be surprised if Warner had to hold back a little becuase I'm pretty sure some people in the industry were not happy after last years live stream public announcement :D This year also seems to be heavier on the retirements so I believe there will be spots for younger riders!

Not a rumour but I wonder if Bernard will replace Emilie with another female rider? If so who? My money would be on Jess Blewitt as he seems to like antipodean riders who are good at multiple disciplines (I hope Jess is going to be OK after that horrific looking crash by the way) I personally think that all teams should have at least one female rider but that's a different topic.

Despite supply chain issues, bike industry has been making absurd profit, so I think the COVID uncertainty/budget issues that would lead people to sit tight for another year like 2020 shouldn't be as big... plus it was essentially a full season (factoring in double headers) and if certain areas can get their heads out of their asses re: vaccine, should be full spectators/calendar next year including Crankworx.

Tuhoto Ariki to the syndicate.

|

9/20/2021 10:30 AM

On the post-race Downtime Podcast, Chris asked about where Tuhoto could move to. Elliot Jackson thought that he would stay where he was to show the 'potential' of the Union (Santa Cruz/Steel City) team. The support he got at Snowshoe from the Syndicate was in part due to Greg crashing and being out of the running and the team decided to help their 'Junior'/development squad. All that being said, he did perform pretty brilliantly so I'm sure he's in the discussion.

Im with Mike Scubadog on this - Tuhoto to Syndicate.

Lots of support from the team these last races, at team dinners with Greg, hints on the live broadcast etc..

Roskopp said something along the lines of "we are rebuilding the team with young talent for the next generation"

From the other site, Milan Vader to Jumbo Visma! For those who do not know anything about road cycling, thats one of the superstar teams with budget that probably rivals half of the xco teams combined...

replacing the current riders, joining them or another intense team?

|

9/21/2021 8:40 AM

Yes it's me !
in my opinion Gwin will stop the WC .. and at the time, the norco team manager (who is the current team manager of intense) had already offered Benoit to come with them ..
