Am I the only one here who has ever ridden toe clips? I feel old. I am old I guess. I used to ride my toe clip pedals in soccer cleats with rubber spikes for better foot retention. Nice and tight in the chunder on my fully rigid bike but soft enough to be able to rip them out when in need.
We are old. Zefal toe clips with bear trap pedals FTW! I switched to SPD in '93 [?] but will always have the scars.

Steel Campy and WTB clip flips, with Rivat cyclocross shoes which also had soccer cleats on the heels. Are we going to need to start a separate back in the old days topic now?

I'm a millenial, but had toe clips on my first XC bike as a kid and it was probably one of the reasons I did not get bit by the mountain bike bug until my 20's...well and the bike itself was a deathtrap even with modern clip pedals.
I hope this is on topic - But since it was news from this week. Just got the OneUp pedals delivered. Some pics and size comparison to Saints for anyone that has been contemplating them.
They are very similar in size, I would say maybe 5% smaller overall platform.
Tried to "dry" clip them in to my Fox Union shoes, but the pins are quite high, and the clip mechanism seems quite hard (From my experience shimano is the same, and it takes a bit for them to "break in) - So I could not clip them in by hand and check how well it contacts the shoe. Pins are not adjustable afaik. But its probably a non issue when mounted and you use your body weight.

In the Downtime episode about the pedals they mentioned that they had something new in flat pedals coming; I'm guessing it'll be the bearing layout from the clips; anyone else know anything?

Nice, I was definitely interested as I find Oneup to have great design and engineering. But focusing so much on the "thinnest" aspect when my XTs are about 3mm thicker and thus have 1.5mm less clearance is a bit deflating to their argument.

Also tough because they’re about the same price as the Saints but I’ve also seen Saints on Amazon for $115 recently. The big thing with the OneUps is the weight. 142g less than the Saints is really good if they perform and last similarly.

When I raced BMX, flat petals were the only option.
Then toe clips, but I was a low-key gravel biker before the term was invented. Riding my Specialized Rock-Combo on the fire roads near where I grew up.
When I decided to buy my first serious mountain bike, I got CLIPLESS pedals because everyone else had them. I distinctly remember trying to slide my foot backwards after clipping in for the first time, and promptly hitting the concrete. Good times.

Looks like Trek is testing updated rear end for the session.Seatstay could be carbon or just painted? Maybe new pivot location or idler location?Machined rocker link

There was footage of Loris testing something last year that was completely covered but you could just make out the rear was different im guessing this was it or a newer iteration

I posted photos on here of that frame loris was riding and it was a different front end with a cradle area that the shock sat in the middle of. This current bike they are riding looks like the stock front end but maybe changed the Seattube for different pivot locations and different rear end? Looks subtle changes, will be interesting to see what they end up with

everthing is adjustable with washers when they are mounted from below like those
They are not, they are grub screws with through and through hex hole and the body has a hole which means you can unscrew it from behind. But it screws in from the top.
its been posted, but those are better pics

@Spomer, can we please deviate the toe-clip topic to another thread, and make it in a slightly bigger default font?
Ha Ha Ha
Bigger font, i see what you did there. (but only because I have my contact lens in).

Well I reckon that's the coolest bike in the world at the moment
I think the Gamux still takes the cake.
I prefer the Trinity myself
