Hey guys, I came across this shop that is selling new norco range vlt which is not on the official store, it has less travel 170/160 and vertical shock. In the specification there is electric shimano XT Di2 RD-M8250 12 speed, which i did not see anywhere except one page that is not accesible but on google says that this derailleur is 200 euros.

I apologize if somebody posted about this already.

I often pondered this, but then they go ahead and release absolute turds like the AWL series for (yuk) e-suvs. In that case, sacrificing image can't be all that important to them, all for a segment that probably doesn't notice who makes anything on their bike.
This is basically a different category though. Turd product for real mountain bikers but this is for the retired $10k+ e-bike trekkers who want suspension for comfort. Those bikes are high end in their own lane so the fox branding makes sense.

To upset the guy from earlier, I don't see how this is a beneficial innovation. It is novel for sure, using 1 piece pawls/springs under tension to create "ramped" engagement, but I've never felt like I needed my engagement to be anything more than binary. I would expect this design to feel spongy, kind of like original Onyx sprag clutch hubs but without the benefit of having instant engagement, and I don't think this design would lead to the lower amounts of wear on the other drivetrain components and frame like was mentioned in the other articles. Still, hope they're able to make a functioning prototype if one doesn't exist already and I would try it out if I had the opportunity.
Yeah its just a lot of complication and I'm sure cost that's just unnecessary. Seems like we have hopefully moved away from the engagement wars from a few years ago. Everyone was racing to see who could have the highest engagement hubs and in reality on the trails after 36 or so POE its hardly noticeable.

Interesting. Kind of an internal version of the Loops Drive hub design. Be interesting to see how it evolves.
Gonna need a link to more info about those wild spoked chainrings. Never have I ever seen that in bike history.
I heard a tech rumor that I made up about an integrated spoke tensiometer as a power meter. Didn't like your stats? Couple twists of the spoke key and you're averaging 300 watts! Strava warriors would've lost their minds.

Strange. The current (and just updated Range) is being carried forward in NA. If I had to guess that's actually the new VLT sight but with a long travel treatment akin to the current one going 170/160 in some models for 2025.

We can go a step further, lace an Ochain onto a spoked crankset and use the new Lauf freehub system mixed with the e*thirteen sidekick system, over 30 degrees of supply, spongy chain engagement so that when you hit a bump your pedals actually kick forwards driving the wheel even faster! Effectively you have the same degree of engagement as a crank Brothers hub from 2011! 16 poe of goodness

Yeah, it looks just like the next gen Sight coming out next year. Would be strange for Norco to drop the Range in travel from 180/170 to 170/160. I love the big travel of the Range and would be bummed to miss out on it.

Not sure where I read, probably here LOL, it but it sounds like the Range is being phased out and they will go with two Sights, regular and long-travel and the Range will be replaced by the new DH bike. Probably cheaper to keep the Sight covering two categories with the same frame with different shocks and bring the in-development DH bike for the >180mm travel folks.

That’s true for the regular Sight and Range. This guy is wondering about the VLT versions.
In light of the recent hints that the updated TRPs are dropping in the (somewhat) near future, has anyone heard about the rumored updates to the Hayes Dominions?
I remember Atherton racing was running some proto calipers a while back. Curious to see what updates they would make, as they are already pretty dialed. Maybe clearance for 2.3mm rotors and better fit/finish/QC? Or something to allow them to better compensate for pad wear without affecting lever feel? Those were really my only complaints about the current version.

Why would 1 need clearance for 2.3mm rotors? The current 2mm design is pretty dialed in already and goes up to 220mm size. Only thing I can think they need to change - even more power, not because it needs it, but for bragging rights against Trickstuff and Intend! 😁

finish is the thing they need the most on dominions, they look exactly like the cheap tektro brake
But the Nomad 5 didn't exist for very long either. The Nomad 6 had already been brought forward.
But the Nomad 6 is the exact same frame as the Nomad 5 with a 29 inch fork and wheel on the front, so really that frame has been in circulation since 2021.

No riding for me this weekend, my new spokes didn't come in so I can't lace up a set of fresh cranks.

Any news on a new nomad ? Surely must be coming soon.with similar changes to Bronson ?
They did drop the 2025 colors not THAT long ago so I wouldnt hold my breath on a new Nomad in the coming months
Bronson/Hightower share same front triangle. Nomad/Megatower share theirs too so will be a double update again.
Matthew Fairbrother with either a Deviate Highlander II made into a downcountry bike or a new model from Deviate?
The current Mullet Nomad isn't even old yet.
Nomad 6 was released in November 2022 as a 2023 model.
Nomad 7 & Megatower 3 should release at the end of 2025 if they follow their usual life cycle.
Are you kidding? The frame has… holes for cables 🤢
