I wonder if Jared came in with enough time to provide rider input on the design of the all-new 2016 Enduro. Or will the first couple of races be the testbed for a prototype (a la Dan Atherton and the most recent Sanction)?
No where near enough time specialized has already built the bikes. The enduro is getting a rework as far as I know but it won't happen for next year.
It will be a bummer not to spot Graves around the Front Range and at Keystone. I hope Yeti can hold onto Richie, at least! As to riders doing both World Cup and EWS series, yeah...no way. The grind of doing EWS alone is too much. I'm sure a few guys are up for trying both, but I don't see that working out well. Twice as much money and time preparing for mid-pack results in both events, what's the point? Focus on one and do it well. If the events were off-season to one another, like cyclocross is to road-racing, you might have something, but racing both simultaneously...I don't think so.
Siick, can't wait to see Grubby ripping around the local trails. If Specialized is for sure that is.....
There will a new Enduro for MY2016 (new SJ last year, new Enduro this year). The new carbon frames usually start showing up for testing Dec/Jan.
If you live in the area, keep your eyes open for some new stealth black stuff under the Specialized guys.
UCSC, Demo, Nisene, Santa Teresa....cash bounty for spy pics!
There will be no new 2016 Enduro, at least not in the normal 2016 sense (they can do a mid-summer 2016 release of a 2016 model, as some people have done it, but that's more of a 2017 release in regards to other brands). The 2016 was shown at Eurobike and Interbike. Yeah, Specialized doesn't do these big shows any more if i'm not mistaken, but they should have shown the bikes until now already. The first orders are usual placed at the end of august, early september for the next year.
If there was a new 2016 Enduro, the first cross of bikes between full prototype and mass production (proto tools, mass production ready techniques) would have been on the trails early 2015 with a ramp up to be ready mid-summer. Plus, as has been said, all the component deals, factory preallocation, etc.
As has been said, the bikes are designed a few years in advance. The new for 2017 bikes in general are most likley in the polishing stages now with the core development going on for bikes released in 2018, 2019 or 2020. The 2020 bikes are probably just rough concepts at the moment. So Graves might have an input on the Enduro after the next one.
EDIT: the 2016 Enduros are already listed on the Specialized site (the air Öhlins shock and all), so yeah, a new Enduro will probably be a 2017 model.
I have heard both Specialized and Canyon for Loic and team, but Canyon is from a more reputable source. If they went to Spec Ed it wouldn't leave a lot of room for a certain World Cup champion, but YnoT?
A Shaun Palmer supported Missy Giove doesn't seem unrealistic.
Not at all. I can't wait. To see what reality brings us. Even if she didn't do so well the stoke factor would be well worth it. She was ahead of her time. Perhaps her time is now?
I saw George going up the gondola with someone else (don't know who) yesterday.
Attache to the gondola was a Cube and a yellow high pivot point bike...
Eyes on the ground and trails. You're the most important at this point. Speak up! If only through clouded eyes. Everyone else is closed lipped at this point in time and you're the only positive link at his point. I keep saying Point! Just do it! Give us the new knowledge! Eyes on the trail all!

Since it is official that Graves is leaving Yeti who will take his spot. To my knowledge Rude will stay with Yeti? I am sure it wont just be Rude on Yeti's team so who will be his teammate or teammates?
We all saw it coming with the endless rumors but this truly sucks.
I'd be genuinely impressed if this were true though!
he has been spotted on a ns

Graves to Specialized - RIP Yeti.
