Cheapest place to get the best cables?

Do I really need the super trick high dollar cables? I'm a slo old guy, I have a few bad spots on the housings, I guess I need to replace the cable also, I saw some really cheap on ebay, then I saw high dollar cables.....I bought some high dollar grips, skinny gay looking things, not sure what I was thinking, I hate them so I ordered some Ourys......
