Here are some pictures I took last weekend. My first ever downhill race, first ever World Cup, although I come from 40+ years of motocross and off road motorcycles. And even longer on bicycles. I'll be back for more and am seriously jonesing for a DH bike. The 2012 Special Ed Demo in Kawasaki colors sure looks good.

Here are some pics:

Big air on the step-down jump before the finish. Several racers cased the crest of the landing (50/60 feet from the takeoff) and had an exciting, out of shape finish.

Jumping into one of the woods sections.

Steep and rocky section. Potentially damaging rocks and trees were padded.

Braaaaaap

Braaaaaaap, again.

Landing big.

There were quite a few of these in the practice runs. This one happened in the racing when a racer caught the edge of a narrow bridge in the middle of asteep turning drop. Peatie's Drop.

This one feels like pure old school motocross.

Cranking for the finish step down.

Jumping into a woods section. Was dry and dusty.

Going big to the finish.
