Dirt Jumper Bikes For Mountain Biking

I was thinking about getting a Dirt Jumper because it look simple and looks easier to maintain, but was wondering has anyone ever road a dirt jumper in the mountains?

It certainly won't be ideal. If you're looking to pedal up, you'll want gears and a tall frame. With a dirt jumper, your seatpost likely won't go high enough. If you're looking to just do downhill, you'll want knobby tires which most dj bikes don't have.

Oh yeah quite frequently.

It was called the 'eighties and early nineties'.
