Hi guys,

Just curious to know if I can put a coil shock on my giant reign? Model is 2013 2, need a shock that will fit 190 x 51. Looking to upgrade because I find myself riding a lot more freeride on this bike than trails, want a bit more beef on the back. A few people/dealers that I've asked have told me nothing from rockshox will fit on, but I'm not sure about other brands. Shock currently is stock rockshox monarch rl, would love to find out about this.

Any opinion helps

Try Mechanics Corner. There's some guy in Canada who's wicked smart. Otherwise, either fight your way through the system to talk to the right person at Giant, or go to your LGiantdealingBS and have them call. Trust me, the guys in the shop at Giant know exactly which shocks fit and which don't. If they're worth they're salaries. Just bitter. Humbug.
