I want a clip version of the Trailcros...

I'm transitioning to SPDs and I've ridden the Terrex Trail Cross shoes on flats for the past 2 years if I'm not mistaken and the fit of it on my foot is just sooooo good. Plus I really love the look, weight, profile, etc. of it. I don't want an all out racey shoe like most of the ones out there look like.

So, is the shank stiffness of the trailcross < freerider pro?

Well it's a bit funny. The actual shank on the Trailcross is plenty stiff, but where the shank stops (under the ball of the foot approximately), the shoe flexes more than a Freerider Pro. That's partially down to the sole but also the thin uppers I guess. The result is that you feel plenty of support under your foot, but less around your foot, if that makes sense.

I'm loving the trailcross low top, I've already submerged it in water a few times and it usually is completely dry within an hour or so. The breathability is huge as well, no more super sweaty feet on those hot days. It's become my go to shoe although I will keep my freerider pros for those colder days.

Sorry, one more question. Do you know what, if any, difference there is between the Sleuth and Sleuth DLX?

I believe the regular Sleuth uses canvas in the uppers while Sleuth DLX is all suede. I think there is also more protection around the outside of the toe area on the DLX.
