Vital members have the raddest rides in the world, proof of which is provided daily in the form of our universally acclaimed Bike of the Day presentation. Picking just 5 rigs from this 360-day long river of awesomeness was never going to be easy, so don't get your knickers in a twist if our selection doesn't include your favorite bike (or wheelsize). And if your pride and joy didn't make it into this very exclusive club, don't be sad, the bar is set pretty high! And so without further ado, lock up your wallet, cancel your credit cards, and get ready to dive into the 5 most banging builds of 2013 - it's drool time!

The Hot Rod

This 2012 Giant Glory would make any hot rodder green with envy, featuring a perfectly executed lime-with-gold-pearls custom paint job including flames. The custom paint extends to the FOX 40 fork, the SRAM X0 cranks and derailleur, and even the Hope integrated top crown and stem. A parts selection that is both functional and color coordinated ensures the level of finish is upheld to the last chainlink - no shortcuts on a build of this standard! This custom corker was our Bike of the Day on October 9.

The Pimpmobile

If you're gonna go gold, it's got to be all the way. Aside from pimping the new wheelsize on the block, this Intense 951 EVO is blinged out to the max with the latest and greatest in lightweight yet functional kit. ENVE carbon wheels and handlebar and Rockshox Vivid Air help keep the weight in check, while a Manitou Dorado keeps the front on the straight and narrow. This golden wonder was our Bike of the Day on August 22.

The Ring

What do you do when the lady of your heart rides park and isn't into jewelry? You propose with a custom-built, custom-painted Santa Cruz V10 of course! And you don't stop at the one-off paintjob (no decals here!) or the custom engraved ODI end caps and Twenty6 pedals, no, you have the bike secretly loaded on the chairlift in Whistler and you present it to your loved one at the top of the mountain. This once-in-a-lifetime build was our Bike of the Day on October 8. (And yes, she said yes!)

The Carbon Trail Destroyer

Fanatik Bike Co. crank out some pretty special builds, and this carbon Devinci Troy is no exception. A 26lbs trail bike that can pretty much take on anything? No problem! Liberal use of carbon (ENVE wheels and bar, Race Face Next SL cranks, even a carbon seatpost clamp) throughout keeps the weight at supermodel-slim levels, while the Cane Creek Double Barrel Air Climb Switch and RockShox Pike fork ensure that full squish is provided when needed. Race Face Narrow/Wide ring and SRAM XX1 keep the shifting crisp and the chain on for any rowdiness this lucky owner will want to get up to down the trail, dropping that stealthy Reverb at the first sight of fun. Given how fast this rocketship must accelerate, the Shimano XTR brakes should see a lot of action too! This carbonanza was our Bike of the Day on November 2.

The Super Bike

Not a fan of fancy fibers or new-school wheelsizes? This racy ride is sure to jack your heart rate up faster than pushing a 38T on a climb. Yeti's SB66 has won both accolades and races, and this wonderfully balanced build shows that you don't need space-age materials to slap together a sick sled. Hope brakes and Renthal bars, stem and chain ring for that UK industry flavor and a little bit of MX flair, with Mavic Crossmax SX helping keep the rubber side down and the rolling weight in check. Flat pedals and single chain ring for max fun factor on the downs! This saucy shredder was our Bike of the Day on December 16.
